On December 9, the Washington DC Patrons had their annual dinner at the Nunciature, hosted by His Excellency, Archbishop Christophe Pierre.
It was a wonderful evening of meeting new friends, seeing old friends, and sharing of good food and fellowship.
Following dinner, Msgr. Maksymowicz, secretary to the Nuncio, was honored by the Patrons with a framed Papal Blessing to celebrate his retirement and his many contributions to the Catholic Church.
After watching two brief videos on the restoration of the Bramante Courtyard and a look behind the scenes with the restorers in the museums, both films acknowledged how important the Patrons are to the Vatican Museums.
Msgr. Hogan, North American Chaplain, updated the group on Patron news from Rome. He shared that Dr. Barbara Jatta, Director of the Vatican Museums, has many large projects on her list. Thus our goal in 2019 is to continue to spread the word and grow the DC Chapter. As a result, we announced the launch of a Facebook page for the DC Patrons so we can all share with others our important mission.
It was a delightful evening and we all look forward to a wonderful new year.
